could be a back up if interested
Wopass coments??

up to the summit ? yea thats not a bad track, pretty cooool,we did that again on our mid north island trip, the top was pretty cut out by heavy rain and had to be pretty carefull not to fall into the massive crevace that had been created but ok if your carefull. that rainbow mountain track is a cooool track if your stuck for places to go as well. just trying to think of the other track we did with you and scott, that was a nice drive as well. also those minginui tracks were cooool some interesting spots to challenge the vehicles and drivers

There's heaps of good 4wheeling around 8) Minginui/Pureora/Pureora nth block/Porters road/Thompsons track. These tracks are all in Doc land -free to go :) Heaps of old tracks to explore and open up as well

Porters is easy, the track to the trig is not suitable for road trucks and you'll need a ramp to bridge the washout at the bottom, washouts on the righthand side in places.Minginui is good but a long way out.Pureora is my pick closer and heaps of tracks.SF70 is good this time of year but still a good drive to get there.Have fun were-ever you go.

yep a fair way out but I think its under a polictical agreement or ... involving DOC and Taupo club so best to stay away .......
is that correct Skid???

judging by the areas you mentioned, you are probably unaware that you should not be going in to SF70. I know you've probably been there lots along with everyone else, but it is actually a no go area as far as DOC is concerned.
We are currently in talks with DOC regarding this area and are very close to getting full permission to use and open up side tracks etc etc.
Anybody venturing into this area is just going to make it harder for us to get our point across to DOC
It would be really nice if everybody stayed out for now.

Cheers

Was probaly 2 - 3 years ago when I went in last and from memory would of rang Taupo but one of the places I used to ring made you ring Opotiki but that may have been Waimana.Any way I always rang the nearest office to were i was going and made sure its ok with DOC.Its not that hard and I have never been refused entry.Mind you i don't go out much now.

sorry should have explained .. the Railway track is a 4wd track along side the Murapara ? edgecombe ?Kaurwua rail lines. Is used or was used in the Geyserland Sarfai and could ( if still acessable ) used as a back up incase Petes place doesnt happen... ok
Just tiring to help, dont want to see any one come to Rotorua just to see me eating at Mc Chuck's

Some here will remember when my 40 snapped its transfer box clean off the gearbag out 70, right in the far end, at the bottom, in the BOG..... LOL

That was fun... NOT

God i have to get my butt into gear and build my truck, i wanna get to petes place! :D :D

Hmmm Muzz needs his 1JZ wired into his bundie and then just a few things to get my truck finished (not little things  ) and if hyperlux can keep his front diff in the front we will have to join in...!!!

Might be keen on a trip down there, no doubt the wife will be dragging me along... theres going to be no stopping her after Sunday!!!!!!

So Brian, i assume that Pete is happy at this stage.... no rain etc bothering him?

Hmmm Late... :( We got back to taupo and got a tow home to toke, 5k past oruanui the tow vehicle broke the powersteering belt and that toasted ALL the belts :( , we then had to get a tow vehicle for the tow vehicle and a lift to tokoroa to get the A frame and my service truck, arrived there really late, opened the workshop and found some prat had opened my truck turned the stereo on :? , opened the toolbox and helped themself to almost all my tools  , which i found scattered all around his rotary powered car  .. His car misteriously got a large dent as i repacked my truck.. I then jumped in to find the stereo going for the weekend had flattened the batterys  so there was another hour on the charger to get it so start then all the way to taupo to tow it home again to start at 6.30am..

great fun! Thnks to Sam Baddely and the other guy in the safari for some serious HP to drag my arse back to the easier tracks, altho that was not uneventfull!

I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER own another early boxed cruiser EVER!
Its just great to hear from everyone AFTER the event that its a common little issue.... Grrrrrrr

LOL its all fun...

Tony had some panhard rod issues....

I hear you have dilligaf running?

Will be a little while before we get to petes place, lets see.. Motor and box over there.... Rollong chassis over there.... SUPER lowered isuzu MU body over there.......
