manuals, etc.

Post by michaelmohr »

Do you guys have any manuals on service and maintainance, grease points and oil levels, checks etc.?

Or do you know some reliable links specifically for "our" truck?

got some mods?

Any suggestions appreciated!!!

Yip I've got the book.
Basically the only grease points are on the driveshafts. Universals and slip joints. If the universals have been changed then they may not have grease nipples.

And the rest...........

Gearbox: Manual 4 speed = 4.1 ltrs Sae 75w/90 hypoid gear oil
5 speed = 3.9 ltrs " " " " "

Transfere case: 1.6 ltrs sae 75w/90 hypoid gear oil

Front axle: Rigid axle = 2.3 ltrs sae 75w/90 hypoid gear oil
IFS = 1.6 ltrs sae 75w/90 hypoid gear oil

Rear axle: Open diff = 2ltrs sae 90 hypoid gear oil
LSD (yellow fill bung) = 2ltrs sae 90 hypoid gear oil for lsd

Engine = What ever oil you use up to the H mark on the dip stick.

Don't over grease the driveshafts. Especially the slip joints otherwise you will have to replace bearings on the diff pinion and transfere output shafts within a very short space of time.

Anything else you need to know send me a PM.

Have fun

2litres for the diff??? damn, think I gotta buy another litre, no problem.
Only, I can not get that screw open: I've been working it with CRC for a week now, but to no avail - I just keep wrecking the screw. Any idea? I tried it with a socket (correct 24mm) and a spanner.

use an impact driver on the 24mm socket - someone may have loctite'd it in.

Failling that, drag it over to my shed and we'll weld a bigg-ass chunk o' steel on the nut and undo it that way :)

alright guys, I had to get a new warranty and the guys at the garage opened it for me free of charge, I know that's cheating, but...
all is fine with the oil. front and rear, I still have this slight rumbling, kinda "rump rump rump" sound when I'm rolling slowly, walking speed. any idea what that could be?
I built in a diff breather extender and an extra interior rear window switch, much more comfortable now...sleeping inside and getting out.

WOF, Yaka. (ok, warrant hit the t and the y by accident.)

Steve, SupraLux: If you don't mind, I'd like to come around your place next time I'm in Chch, usually Monday or Tuesday. I've got no acute problem, just to talk tech and stuff. javascript:emoticon('')
