Post by tatnz »

i have been looking at engine upgrades for my 91 terrano v6,my thoughts where:
nissan v8

then i found this
http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles/articletype/articleview/articleid/1298/project-pathfinder-part-10-how-to-build-the-nissan-vg30e.aspx

the cost and b.s that goes with the fist 3 idea's is a lot of pain for some gane, but the 4th could be done cheaper ect for near on the same power.what do you think?

p.s i got my hands on a 300z lsd now all i need is a front diff housing to give this theroy that i have read about a go

Building a VG like discibed there isn't going to be cheap! If you want an easy power up grade for a VG then get a VG30et from an early 300zx. Single turbo etc and uses the same block and heads. Will make an easy 400hp without too much work.

VH45 (41) into Terrano is a heap of work. (I'm part way through one)
V6 commie is a pretty easy fit.
VG30dett is a tough fit due to the width of the motor but can be done.

If i was you I'd just supercharge turbo with low boost and fit a better ecu to control it. The VG is a good motor and will handle a bit of boost without too many dramas. It all depends on hpw much power you want.

FYI
SR's, RB's, all VG's, CA's, VH's, TD, TB etc can all be bolted to the autos as the bolt pattern of the trans pump is the same. All you need is the right bell housing, torque converter and input shaft and you can swap things around.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.
