What suspension for my Coiled Lux?

Post by 1UZ-LUX »

Hi guys

Im in the process of a double cab hilux build. VVTi 1UZ coiled 70 series front end, leaf rear.

What I want to acheive is the best road performce I can will still being reasonable capable. I dont want to sacrifice road manners for more flex as it is essentially a daily driver. Ill overcome flex issues with lockers and heaps of gas....

Will have an ARB bar and winch so im thinking heavy duty coils for the front? Best options?

It will run 33's and I dont want it to be too jacked.

It will have a 50mm body lift which will make the engine fit better and give me some guard clearance.

What I need to figure out is how much suspension lift Ill need to run my tyres. As I can move the diff forward when I do the coil swap Im thinking I may get away with standard height 70 series coils

With the arse what is the best way to go? Starndard leafs with longer shackles or 50mm lifted springs? My understanding is standard springs will flex better?

It will have a flatdeck on it but it wont be a little bobtailed shorty as I need to get the quad on the back. How heavy duty do you recomend getting my leafs? EFS list a mid range at 250kg?

I was also thinking about Rancho adjustable shocks allround you thoughts? Im thinking I will be able to stiffen everything up nicely on the road when im drifting my 33' muddies......

What I had thought would be best is 50mm body lift, 50mm coil lift, and standard rear leafs with extended shackles to match the front lift. Im just worried this might be too high? Your thoughts?
