Terrano TD27eti temp gauge (pic inside)

Post by Butters »

Hi, this has been on my mind for a while.
The temp gauge of my truck never makes it past 1/4. Is this normal for these engines/model of truck?

Cheers

That can be the thermostat opening temperature which is absolutely normal. TD27 thermostats are known for not closing completely and that causes them to run slightly cold. If the needle drops going down hills or take ages to get to that temp, then i would replace it otherwise leave it be.

Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Thanks for that. What would you consider "ages to get up to temp"?

Without timing it, I think it's around 5 minutes

5 minutes about right. As long as the needle doesn't move from there, all good.
