Laser cutting? (or water)

Any one care to recommend someone?
I will have a drawing that I can email to the cutter. Don't really care where they are, if the price is right I will just get the parts couriered to me when they are done.

i can recommend precision laser cutting ltd in huia rd auckland,bit biased though as i work there

lasers good to 16mm is fast and cheap
waters good to 100mm but a lot slower and more expensive

Finally getting on to the drawings. Question (for muddylux I guess). If I email a drawing (autocad) to be cut does it need dimensions etc? ie will some onere draw it or does it just get loaded into a computer and cut?

Normally if you've drawn your dxf at 1:1 scale, and saved it as such, the laser/water cutting software will use it just fine. Just make sure the dxf is saved with no tiny gaps in the lines, some software has issues with gaps

drew it in 1:1 no scaling
add two dimensions only one on a long edge and one on any holes to be cut

this will then be double checked against the drawing that comes through as sometimes "things change" and if found then questions can then be asked

you must add steel thickness and grade
whether it is a coated (galv etc) of plain black steel

all lines must be complete and no double up on lines either as the laser will try to "recut" and that's bad

add radius to the corners if required as the machine cuts them just as nice as square corners, and they look nice as well....

if you have a situation where there becomes two or more lines are added together to make one continuous line, delete the shorter one and use "extend" to make the longer line become the full length single line, as sometimes the program will stop the cut at the end of a line, which could be "mid span" if you follow what i mean
