3" suspension lift on 80series

Post by Lchundy »

Do you need adjustable panhards for a 3" lift or will oe ones do the job, also do i need sway bar mount extensions or just lose swaybars all together?

Any advice from 80 series owners who have done a 3-4" suspension lift appreciated.
Cheers

I have done loads of 3" lifts on cruisers ,
Ultimatly i would do the panhards and castor correction , the sway bars will work ok with 3" how ever it isnt hard to drop them down to suit ,

I have done 1 without panhards (initially just springs and shocks , but i would strongly suggest to do castor correction or it will follow the road like an unstable meth addict , also keep in min you will have to extend the diff breathers , adjust your prop valve to suit and depending on the shock stroke at least a 75 percent chance you will have to extend your brake hoses , ( i usually extend them 4" depending on the articualation ,
Also keep in mind if you dont do castor correction over long ks the pinion bearings can starve of oil so would require a slight overfill in which case i hope your axle seals are in good nick hahahahah

Yeah thanks for that mate
Was onto the castor correction bushes, was just a bit confused about panhards and sway bar extention mount because some 3 inch lift kits have em and some dont
