Post by u13turbo »

Warrant time has come up and I need some flares. 2" is around the size I need. Just wondering if anyone knows of any cheap kits around?

Cheers

What part of the country you in? I can do you a cheap kit.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

theres plenty of places that do bolt on rubber flare kits mate but they never come cheap :? terrain tamer, bushranger, repco, tardme to name a few, if you use one of those kits you'll find they always trap moisture and end up rusting out behind them :D

if you use that bunnings shit its not the easiest stuff to get around the bends in your wheel arch and the shape of the panels as its a rigid plastic so aesthetics' aren't always the best but its a cheap fix for a wof unless you want to go and borrow your mates skinny little wheels to stick it through the wof check. If your offroading involves bush work and hitting and bashing banks and trees and smashing shit forget about the bunnings stuff it'll all rip off and rip the fixings through your panelwork you'll need to find some softer flexy rubber to cut the flares out of, do a google search of rubber wholesalers and you should come up with something

Para Rubber sell flat reinforced rubber sheeting by the meter, similar result to garden edging except it is very flexible and will bend/flex around anything that hits it.

Yeah I know of the repco ones, 260$ with discount. I saw a kit on trademe for %79 which I would have bought but couldn't at the time. Might look at that para rubber stuff
