13bt starter motor trouble

Sunk my cruiser on the weekend, now when I go to fire it up in the mornings it dosen't engage on the flywheel the first couple of times you turn the key, just winds up. Any quick fixes apart from tapping it with a hammer?

strip it, clean it, dry it reassemble it. sweet and easy hardest part is taking it out and putting it back in the truck (and that only takes 10 mins)
