Changing transfer box
After losing 4wd in my fj40 I have been given another transfer case/gearbox to put in. However the new one is vacum operated 4wd, where as the current one is manual 4wd. What is involved in installing the vacum side of things and would it be better to keep the manual transfer case or change to the vacum one??
Re: Changing transfer box
change to manual if its in a 40 the vacuam stuff hits the chassis.easiest way is to unbolt the front tcase nose assembly and swap them over.as long as they are both split type should be no probs .manual is more reliable.hope this helps
