70 series rear seat upgrade
Gidday team, am wanting to change the seat setup in the rear of my MWB cruiser. I Want to put in two bench seats facing each other kind of like a trooper. Can this be done? Does it require certification? Has anyone done it before? If I cant make more passenger space I've been told by
THE MRS
I will have to upgrade to a LWB as the family is growing.
Nothings a problem if you don't give a f#ck.
Re: 70 series rear seat upgrade
Yes sir, any thing is possible.
But I 'think' any thing that affects the seat mountings needs cert, reality is a different thing in many cases.

Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

Also be aware that sitting sideways increases the chances of car sickness. Adults might be able to handle it but little folks may have the tendancy to be sick

Hadn't thought of car sickness. Quite keen to find someone that has done this mod or has a trooper in chch to have a look at.

Re: 70 series rear seat upgrade
any mod to seat mounting points requires certification and you will need to add seat belt anchor points which will also require a cert.
