I think this is part of the safety mechanism in the belt. Be best to check this before you biff the old ones just in case

My truck always does it on angles or if your trying to put the belts on when your driving around a corner

Its a pain in the arse and I've always just put up with it, might be a cruiser thing :?

If i recall right most vehicles have a safety mechanism, some have a ball bearing which if the car is not on the level they wont let the seatbelt come out. Its mainly for keeping you in your seat if you roll, end up on ya side ect. As someone said before giveing them a clean and spray up can help .
NO one remembers who comes 2nd....!

Exactly the same on my cruiser.

The seatbelts don't only lock up when they pull out fast, they also lock up when the vehicle slows fast, it does it by a mechanism that swings forward and locks it. so when going down hill it does the same thing as it is as if you are stopping. What if do is if I'm trying to get it on while going downhill I just throttle a little and it releases, be careful doing it tho as you are hitting the gas quick and concentrating on your belt and you need to watch where you are going lol!

I find it a real pain when you get it ¾ way out and not quite enough to plug it in and it locks, but you don't wanto let it go back in now that you got it this far out an and you need to change gear and turn a corner, and you hit a bump and... you get the picture!
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.
