What do you want to use it for?
The vadz (Rusky name) has a seperate transfer case, easy to work ive heard.
Id just find a CE70 and slap its guts in, easy and cheap. Just make a stub adapter to the t/case.
From the one I drove a few years ago it had low enough gearing and with the diesel rev range would be fine.
Good, I've got water to air intercooler sitting in shed for it, and am gonna throw in a hilux surf radiator with elec fan. I'm a bit paranoid about temp- killed a couple of 2L-t's that way...
Gonna play with standard syspention and diff's etc for now, save up some parts and $$ then start from the ground up. proberly won't change anything to drastic for a year or so.
Main use is trying to keep up with stuearle and jaffa on club trips!!, and I want to get a bit more compeditive in the local Club champs. Standard lada will go places, but with lsd, a bit more wheel travel and bit bigger feet, I won't have to thrash it to much to get places...
I'm not going to big or to nuts (Yet

). i need to keep it legal, and want to build some reliability into it.
Prefer to use toyota transfer case, Lada one is annoying to line up, and I don't trust it's strength if I get 3Ct in front of it. Still keeping options open though. Would rather build it once and not worry about it.
