80 series headlights

Post by skid »

my 80 has twin headlight thingys where the outside goes when you turn the headlights on, but the inner one is activated by a switch and the inner one is yellow, but upon removing the bulb, it seems the yellow part is a lens of some description inside the headlight.

what I want to know is, can you remove the yellow bit somehow so I can put a high intesity blue bulb thingy in there or something.

hate the yellow and want it gone

any of you done this or had an 80 series headlight apart to be able to see inside

thanks in advance

ive removed mine.you need to pull the headlight out and remove the bulb holder.its screwed in i think.the yellow bits are glass domes .they have small tabs holding them in.remove and chuck them .it works a treat ive left the factory 55 watt bulbs in and its sweet.people always comment on the clear fog lights.hope this helps.let me know if you need more help.it was a while ago so going off memory.

Sweet, i was gonna pull the head lights out and try and smash them out with a screw driver and hopefully empty the glass out through the hole, but seeing as they screw out SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!
