Hey guys.
A new problem has accured. Now the truck wont start, turns over and everything, and starts for like a second at like 300rpm then shuts off strait away, wen it turns off there is a hissing noise coming from the thing that you put washes behind to up the boost(i think thats where it coming from)
But now it wont start:(
Any help would be appresiated thanks
truck wont start hissing noise. . . .
Re: truck wont start hissing noise. . . .
Could be a fuel problem, remove fuel cap and try and start might have an air lock
Re: truck wont start hissing noise. . . .
Not sure about the 2LT but the cruiser 6 cyl diesels have a vacuum system that opens a butterfly valve to allow the engine to get air and run. I use this system to disable the engine when I don't want it to get stolen.
The starting then stopping, sounds just like what I have installed. That hissing may be a leak in the vacuum system which is why the butterfly valve wont open.
Just a thought.

It does sound like a vacuum leak pull the hose that run's to the wastegate actuator (the thing you space out) and look for a split, block it off with a screw or something and see what happens.
The other thing it could be is fuel, on top of the diesel pump there is a manual pump give that a crank and see if there is pressure if there is fine if not pump 14 or 15 times and see if you build pressure. It could be air getting into the pump and dropping the fuel to the tank.
Check the diesel filter too it could be clogged from a bad batch of diesel.
