Hi,
There are four studs that have a thread on each end. They go into the hub?? and through the free wheelin hub with tapered washers.
I have broken all 4 and the 2 little locator dwells. Does anyone have these as Toyota is saying ex Japan
Thanks
Nick

the later LJ71's like Nicks and my old pos have those stupid electric hubs, the stub axles and stub bolts are different from memory when I did the manual hub conversion on the old pos.

Correct. I gave mine away so don't have them anymore. I've lost count of the number of those stud's I've broken. I used to get replacements from Blacks.

Do you have a number for Blacks?? Also what did you replace your hubs with in the end.

Hi Nick,
assuming you still have the electric hubs
here's the solution
best way to cure the problem so it doesn't happen again is to replace the stub axles and hubs with ones from a 70 series cruiser or any solid axle hilux (later the better as less seal wear on the stub axles), they will bolt straight on to your swivel housing, they are the correct length for your prado CV's, you can re use your wheel bearings as they are the same as hilux, and you can bolt your brake rotors on, 30 spline manual FWHubs will then bolt straight on, try and get a set of AISIN ones
Best set up you can do, and it's really cheap and simple, and it's all bolt on parts
Don't bother with the adapter set ups

If the studs and dowels are in good condition on the electric type hubs and the nuts at the correct touque then why would going to all of the above be any better?
Only time ive seen the bolts break is when a convesion ring kit is fitted with standard type freewheel hubs on electric main hubs.

So that you don't have the electric hubs, or conversion rings, and of course no custom prats, should you blow a manual FWH if you don't carry a spare then usually someone in a group of 4x4's should have one.
