3 litre v6 into place of 2l

Hi guys,
Its probally been asked before (although i can't find it)
I have a old (84)single cab laying around dying for a motor transplant.
Was looking at the lexus way but funds are a bit tight at the moment.
THE QUESTIONS
Will a 3.00 litre v6 from a surf bolt into the place of a 2.4 litre diesel,
what other mods are required (electrics etc),
This is just going to be a mud plug truck and not required to be street legal,
Truck currently has toyota dyna gearbox in it,
Will the motor bolt onto this.

if you go the toyota v6 way just leave the gearbox thats on the engine all together and throw it in. Wont be a bolt up but nothung a mig wont fix

Is there a decent size petrol motor that will just bolt in ?(pref 6 cly)

Commodore V6 is a pretty cheap engine but you need to buy or make a few bits to fit it up. the M series 5m to 7m (with the rare and hard to find bellhousing) are close to bolt up. Any conversion the engine is the cheap bit the fuel pump, fuel lines, EFI wiring, Engine Mounts, Clutch modifications (heavy duty at least), new plugs and belts, oils, welding wire, rags and all the other stuff adds up I would budget for a bout 5K doing all the work yourself and going up to 8-10K as a turn key with you doing nothing.

Remember this is just to get the engine in and up and running properly shanging the suspension for the new engine weight and Radiators etc will take more time and money to tune out.

Not saying don't do it just letting you know so you have a good idea on costs, the cheapest way to do a conversion is find a whole donor car, it will have the loom, computer, fuel pump and all the things you need to make it run.

The V6 motors run a different box with different gearing. It will bolt up for sure but the lever positions will be all wrong as the motor sits further forward than the 4cyl engines.

I would probably go with a newer 4cyl motor, efi etc. The V6 Toyota's aren't much chop.

looks like the commodore is the way to go,
will keep an eye out for a motor,
any ideas where to find the bell housing ?
or will the dunnydoor bolt onto the dyna gear box ?

you will spend a rediculous amount of money adapting the holden motor to a toyota manual. much cheaper and easier to go auto
