2C automatic -manual gear change's

Hello all,
I've got a little project truck, it's got a Toyota 2c diesel engine and I'm looking at converting to Auto. But i'd like to be able to hold it in gear, and select gear's manually. Can these gearbox's be changed to do this properly? if so, How??
I'm looking at using a gearbox from the liteace range of van's...
The normal auto will still use first and second when the gear selector's in the seciond position. I'd prefer to be fully manualy controlled if possible.
