I'm with them

I only had one before my pump and it ran like shite, so we put one after and it ran sweet after that

Both my old 40's were the early ones with the tank sitting on the floorpan under the drivers seat, I used to take the tank out of the truck and remove the sender and flush it out several times with petrol and drain all the rust scale and crap out the sender hole. I found once the tanks rusty inside it'll always be rusty inside and the petrol sloshing around keeps knocking more rust scale off :?

when I got my 40, it had a diesel in it, which we took out

we just squirted shit loads of water in the tank and lots of degreaser cleaning shit and more water and then left it for a week to dry out and filled it up with petrol and drove it.

every now and then i put some 2 stoke oil mix into it, castrol TTS synthetic stuff (same as i used to run my MX bike on) and that seems to keep the rust at bay
