OPTIMA and/or ODYSSEY BATTERIES WANTED

Post by Leithfield »

OPTIMA or ODYSSEY BATTERIES WANTED (Previous bad experience with Exide Orbital, so would prefer not to go there again.)

Looking for a high CCA starting battery + a grunty deep cycle marine; does anyone have any contacts for discounted purchase (trade, or know of cheap on-line seller, etc). Would need to get shipped to Christchurch for collection.

Cheers,
Kev

Thanks Jerry, however due size & weight limitations, I really need the Optima / Odyssey.

Hi Kev,

just seen this thread, I got my dual optimas in two different methods. I got my little one off trademe for $350 (ouch) and got two big heavy duty reds (another 1k cca on top of my little optima) from the century battery outlet near hoyts by the rail way crossing (old valentines area) you go in and ask for the damaged ones. these were brand new, had a couple of marks and were only $250 each. half the price of normal stock. had warranty and everything.

hope this helps.

cheers

Thanks for the sales push Jerry, but it would a waste of time unless you are in the Welly region, coz at $40 freight for one battery the extra cost would be a killer.

What kind of size and weight limitations, Supercharge do a battery with the same CCA and would be just as heavy as an Optima battery.

Yes they have a good name, but they are not light and are certainly not a Gel battery like everyone thinks they are.

Although at a price as cheap as Mike said, I would be jumping at that one

I went over there about 6 months ago, they wanted $350 for the damaged ones too... so I said no... as all I needed was a starting battery as I have a red top optima for the winch.... although if the price was right I'd buy another red top
