Re: Lockright lockers ? ? ?
Got one in a BJ74 - 85 mwb 3.4 turb diesel 70 series cruiser.
Does me well. Had issues with it not set up properly, once that sorted no problems again. I got it with the vehicle and didn't really notice the handling issues some people complain about but while it wasn't working I did notice the vehicle had slightly better manners, but not a problem, I don't even really adjust driving style.

Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

got one in the back and one in the front. If they're setup properly they work well, do notice a bit of a twitch sometimes but nothing to worry about. The one in the front can be a bitch sometimes when coming downhill. but well worth the money.

Hi There
I have a 1986 MWB 13BT with one in the rear and find it works great. I had one issue with it not disengaugeing which snapped the studs and dowel pins holding the rear axle in which in turn meant I arrived home from a bush trip with no axle on the drivers side
. As I run a TJM air locker in the front and it was a hardcore track on a wet day I did not notice its absence till I got home. After replacing the axle I drained the diff oil which had water in it and put new oil in and it hasnt missed a beat. I do now regulary check the oil for any signs of water and change it regulary as I feel oil is cheap compared to fixing broken stuff.

There are many & varied opinions on whether it should be put in the front or back.
The manual says if only fitting 1 put it in the back...so thats what i did & its makes a massive difference to my surf.

You have to adjust how you drive on the road slightly.
When you go around a corner you have to very slightly accelerate around the corner ..this makes things much smoother.
You actually get instructions on how to drive in the box with the lock right.
You can buy them from 4wd shops but they tend to be cheaper on trademe.
1 x 4wd shop owner actually sells them cheaper on trade me than he sells them for from his business so shop around

Re: Lockright lockers ? ? ?
I have fitted Lockrights to the front and rear of my 94 Surf
They are awesome for the money. I brought mine from Ebay off Rons machining service.
The rear is fine just when turning at an intersection have to remember the more you accellerate the more it will drive both rear wheels the same making the inside wheel spin a bit.
Think of them more as a mechanical Linited slip rather than locker
Both lockers fitted cost less than one air locker
