Hi guys,
I'm trying to remove a transfer case from auto trans, its from a BJ74 cruiser. I have opened up the transfercase, removed the 3 (or was it 4...) big bolts inside which I assumed where holding it to the steel 'spacer' between the transfer and the auto.
But the bugger still refuses to separate from the auto? I expected it to just slide of the output shaft inside but have never actually seen how the transfer connects to the auto.
I can pull the transfer off the steel spacer a couple of mm's but then it feels like it is catching on a gear inside the steel spacer section.
Is there something I am missing?
The auto is stuffed and has no oil, can't tell if its stuck in a gear. But I'm ready to take to the auto with my angle grinder!
Any hints please?

might just be tight on the bearing .assume all bolts are out and transfer case cover is off.

So get rough with it then?

I'll give it another go before getting the angle grinder out!
