So once the sump was off Sig came around and started dropping some caps to have a look at the bearings.... they didnt look too good after 5000km of only being used to pop down to the shops once a fortnight and has never been offroad or thrashed...... honest

We dont know what went through the bearings yet but we found some bits of metal lodged in the pickup screen and the mangled thrust washer that turns out has come off the drivegear on the bottom of the distributor?
Sig from Monstor Garage in Stokes Valley has offered to have a look and do a bit of a rebuild again and I'm sure he'll be trying to convince me to stick a 383 crank in it or something like that coz all blokes know bigger is always better, but in the interium I grabbed another 350 to throw in there to get me mobile again and give us plenty of time for a stripdown and rebuild and I'm guessing that might start with a clean up in the acid baths out at the army workshops again

So I started thinking about pulling the motor out yesterday and doing the swap over and before I knew it Beer Cruiser offered to come down for the afternoon shift and Reece booked himself in for the nightshift, I dont know how the grapevine worked coz I didnt say fark all to anybody else but Abbo, Jumper and Turoa all turned up out of the woodwork and we got the temp engine in. We ran out of time but its all bolted in and I'll sort the rest of the stuff out and get it running when I get back from the bush in a week
Cheers for all the help guys and Jerry sorry I didnt get your txt till after we'd finished
