I used 4 Hella Rallye 4000 lights on my rack.
I'm using 100w bulbs in each light so they draw quite a bit of currant. (looking at doing HID conversions later on)
Use a good quality light (Hella, Narva, Lightforce) and they'll last, plus they have much better reflectors than cheap chinese copies so the light output is much better.

Setting up the wiring to be able to carry the correct currant is the key to getting good light output and having no dramas.
So I have used 8 gauge wiring and a 150a relay and anderson connections (an overkill really). Tidied up all the wiring with cable tubing and it looks mint and it works mint!

I'll post a pic of the lights if you want.....

Please...

I've got 4x Rallye 1000s on the roof and I've just redone my all the wiring for my headlights and front spots and finally getting full voltage to the lights, previously my roof spots were losing about 3v so pretty keen to see how you've done heavy guage wiring all the way up to the roof...

This is the only decent photoI could find of mine:

I've got a couple of pics of the lights - but not the wiring yet (It's bloody raining here, so they'll have to wait) But I got the bits and pieces from Jaycar.

These are the Anderson connections (so I can quick disconnect the wiring)....

This is the relay I used.....

This is the wire I used..... (I used red and black)

These are the terminals I used onto the battery.....

This is the fuse I used....60a

This is the stuff I used to hide the wiring but in 16mm... http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp ... BCATID=247

Basically I used the 8ga wiring (red - power, black - gnd) as supply and soldered each wire from each light into them,
Then used heat shrink to seal the join and tape to cover. Then slid the tubing over the wiring and cable tied onto the rack to hold nicely in place. The Anderson connections are under the bonnet so I can the lights off real quick.
I'll try and take some more pics of the wiring soon.
(The 2 lights wearing the covers are pencil beam and the other 2 are spread beam)

Took some pics in the shed (where it's dry) of the wiring on the back of the lights and the Anderson connections.
