Full time 4wd versus part time 4wd by any chance?
I thought all 80's were full time but the gx manuals might not be.

im guessing that that pto will be for the parttime 80 series these trucks where using the older split transfur boxes that where on the 60 and 70 series cruisers the full time 80 does not have a port to bolt a pto onto the side of the transfur box thats why when toyota installed the electric winch into the deisels full time trucks they took a feed off the 24v side of the wiring. im not sur if they ever put a winch onto the petrol models as these trucks were only 12 volt( if memory serves me right??)

back to mikes problem going to either a 60s auto or a manuel will be the only opptions at a guess or going hydrulic and taking power off the crank pully

all options have pluses and minuses

cheers

Hey Mike, What auto are you running? Is it an A440, because the A440 came out in the 70 series cruisers with the normal cruiser transfer case - that'd probably be the easiest way to get a PTO.

hi Jemery

Mikes auto is the 80 series with the full time transfur box with a center diff thats been "modded"

if im correct(?) the a440 was in both the 60 and 70 trucks

this would be Mike best option (in my humble oppion) the problem is in finding 1 that somebody will sell

haha, "modded"

yeh, I think the a440 also came out in the 80 series, just with the different transfer case behind it.
