Dude, they use the same as a v8, some say more
You wouldn't get much change out of 20L per 100k, but hey, they are still fcking cool!! The motors are solid dirt cheap to replace if you do manage to fck one

Expensive in gas, cheap in parts & labour cos they are very easy to work on, everything is simple, and parts are cheap. But mainly - they're so reliable you don't have much maintenance to do. Change the oil occasionally, and check the plugs, points, & tappets every couple of years....

Could'nt get much different in current vehicle got a 2.4 non turbo diesel but sick of no grunt was thinking of just buying something else instead of doing an engine conversion.
Re: Fuel economy on FJ 70
how do you go geting 35' on these? do they rub a lot on the leafs? or will a bit of a lift and off set rims fix it?
rough 'n' ready
Re: Fuel economy on FJ 70
I have a 50mm body lift and 35' 13.5's and they fit fine. Second time round I would go a bit narrower as my turner circle is shocking and it rubs on full articulation on the inner gaurd at the back, just enough to clean the gaurds though
