greetings all, long time since ive sent a message in here, ive sold my ilux and that now looknig at buying a 1981 BJ42 just as a run about work truck/hunting vehicle, no serious 4x4 anymore... to expensive :), just wandering the goods and bads about these beasts of a tin can on wheels...

it's never gonna let ya down reliability wise. as long as maintenance is kept up. too true on the rust sadam, and the ease of mod cons like heater and aircon wont be available to ya too easily..

dont expect blistering performance.. she's an old technology wagon, so if ya dont mind 'cruisin' (excuse the pun.. :mrgreen: ) around at a moderate speed, you'll be goodly.

i'd love one just to do that and for the nostalgia factor.

bj42 = teh coolies.. 8) :mrgreen:

Great trucks and very reliable, but they are starting to fetch good money now.
But i think you should dooo ittt!!!
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

I ran one of them back in Oz in the early nineties. Good reliable motor.
