I doubt that in 62 years a third of the Sheep Shagga's will still exist.
Also the value of those 1948 landrovers would nearly buy a new Sheep shagga.
I have enough money to buy a few new Sheep Shagga's but will stick with the Landrover.

after all the landrover dribble if you look at the original post the thread was about performace mods to the engine rather than wether it would outlast outdrive outplay a 62 year old jeep

Yea, I love how twisted threads can get. Good to see there are still plenty off opinions out there, and people that are happy to voice them. Thats what keeps things ticking, otherwise life would be boring. But no doubt some desent pony can be dragged out of one of the new utes if the original poster can keep on topic longer than us:)
like someone before mentioned funny how things get twisted around.
yeah i love my landrovers and tell you what if i could find a decent mid 1990's v8 defender 90 i would probably buy it over a shagger but i need a nice vehicle that i can do the best of both worlds, can be a nice touring vehicle and carry a load of firewood around and a couple of hay bales or tow 2500kgs if necessary.
i know a chap who has a shagga and one of the models before with the 3litre diesel turbos they had, both are double cab 4x4 wellside hiluxs and he says the older one is better off road so he uses for that and the shagger is the one he takes if he's heading on a long trip.
i just sold a v8 commodore so was just wondering what power figures can be extracted from the hilux's. it just wasnt fair on the commodore loading it up with fire wood or rubbish etc, way too nice for that and i wouldnt really be wanting to use the hilux off road any way as i have a good old turboed up safari hahaha...
but anyway tomorrow i get to take our work 4x4 Navara stx from gisborne over to ohakune so will see how that goes!!
