Winch cable needed
Cable on new Safari is pretty shagged (several strands severed and unwinding!) so new cable...anyone able to tell me where cheapest place is to buy cable in Wellington region??

cookes in petone 30m of 12mm cost about 150 odd....

You could try Howard material handling on port road aswell, they sell steel rope an are the superwinch agents aswell

Didnt get quote from Howards but after getting one from Cookes I was told to check out Steel & Tube "Chain and Rigging" division...way cheaper!
I would have to recommend anyone after wire rope for winches head to S&T Chain & Rigging. Lot cheaper than Cookes even when Cookes offered 15% discount.
S&T:
10mm Galv cable (5.3t) = $4.30/m
To crimp loop on end incl reinforcing = $10
Hook for on end (5.4t) = $11.40
Can make up within 30 minutes of walking through the door unless have some big order theyre busy on.
I'll be heading down S&T later this week
