recomend a good oil

i have recently bought a 91 70 series crusier with the 1HZ motor. Can anyone recomend a good quality diesel oil to use in these motors.

I can probably reccommend a good search engine to find this topic discussed ad infinitum here and elsewhere on the net...

I have always used Castrol GTX Diesel though stuff like Castrol JMax (specially for jap oil burners) comes highly regarded.

Consider installing a bypass 'toilet roll' oil filter if you are keeping it for a long time.

Yip Mobil delvac MX is really good oil, Its the same stuff that CAT use in all there machinery (in a cat labeled bottle), its a multi use fleet oil and meets or exceeds the criteria for Petrol engines aswell.

The best one is Delvac 1 which is the diesel/multi use version of Mobil 1, I used it in my high reving race quad for years and it ran sweet. :)

Have just put a 2.8l 3l hilux motor in my prado and got told to use delo 400.From what i understand there is a LA (Low Ash) and a Multigrade.What should i use ? and where can you get it?..Repco Don't stock it

id use multigrade, but thats just my personal opinion.
