37x14.5 on a 70 series...?
37x14.5 on a 70 series...?
I have a lwb 78 series bout 160mm worth of lift and running 35.12.5 bfgs..
I am changing to creepy crawlers (once I save enough lol)
and am tossing up, I want to go up to 37s but do you think I will brake more stuff going up to 37s?
and if I go up I'd be hard pressed to get the 12.5 when there's 14.5 available..
I realise il have to chop my guards and make some wide as farrrk flares but has one ever seen a 70 with 37x14.5s??
any input apprechiated, pics would be lovely
and if ur thinking "what a dickhead, good luck with 14.5s" please tell me I want to know!
cheers

anythings do-able and there are 70's around with 37" tah's but there would be a lot of work in it and you probably wouldnt end up with a very drivable truck on the road as well as sucking lots of power out of whatever engine you've got in it? Breakages due to the extra leverage and stress comes down to how you drive it but the breakage rate would have to increase

Dont do it bro.
no experience with the prado but getting them properly onto my patrol was a nightmare- ended up with a huge project.
problem is the arc that they will swing through when turning. Means you'll have to either move the front axle way forwards or cut the shit out of your guards/body

If you do take plenty of photos. Ive got 36" simexs but thinking 37x12.5 creeprys would suit my 70 better
Im thinking 12.5s would be a bit nicer on cvs an give you the height without the extra weight, well thats my theory anyway

haha thanks for the pics ash..
might have to go with 12.5s, too scared of getting 14.5s and as said above the huge width when swinging full lock would be cunty..
damn maxxis if they made a 35x13.5 like they do in the mudzilla i'd prob just go with them, not a fan on the mudzillas tho..
oh decisions, may have to try two of the 37x14.5s off neils hilux on one side and see how much work il be looking at..

I had 37 Wranglers on my 70 for a while, borrowed off Tu's, can't remember how wide they were though
Went on easy and mine only had stock suspenders with a bodylift.
- It shakes the shit out of it from 80 - 95 km, anything over 95kmph scares the shit out of you
- You never had to use 4th or 5th gear
- You have practically no brakes
- The turning circle was so wide i din't even bother trying to do U turns, i just driove around the block
But I gotta say "It was frgin awsome!!"

i wouldn't imagine the speedo would be to accurate you would probably find 140 is 110 or some thing like that
