Make sure you use the search function rather than just ask questions - they can be a bit intolerant when answers are available but you're too lazy to search.
From my experience with an old 2F - checking valve clearances occasionally is worth the effort, plugs last a long time, but worth replacing if it's been a while. Points also last well, and best left alone once you have the gap right. Put a bit of silicon around the distributor cap once you have them right, and it'll run under water.
Best thing you can do to improve performace is put a set of headers on and shorten the exhaust so it exits in front of the rear wheel, with a free-flow muffler. Letting it breathe better really wakes it up. Rev's more freely, and gives improved torque at low revs. VERY noticeable!

unless the things pretty run down and rattly a new set of points alone make a big difference
