2.7 4cylinder petrol surf

Post by paddyak »

hi , i'm thinking of upgrading from my 90 2ltr 2door surf to a 4 door with a bit more power. seen a 96 2.7 ltr surf recently and was wondering if this engine would be much better/worse than the 2ltr power and economy wise or if there was any known issues with the engine ?
cheers

there is nothing worse than the 3y-e power wise lol. Slowest vehicle I have ever owned. 2.4 diesel hilux had better pull than my current surf. the 2.7 is pretty alright. Jafa's beast runs one and seems to be plenty of power. Of course he has all sorts of special gearing but i would assume it would go pretty good on the road.

Here's a quick comparison between a 2.4 diesel and a 2.7 petrol hiluxs. The black one with white lettering is the petrol. Has Locka's front and rear, swinging 33's.
P.S. Don't compare to my 'Rano

Can't beat a Nissan
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
