finally joined up

Post by flipper2 »

Hi, Ive been lurking around here for ages, after reading the latest Thompsons track drama thread i figured to join properly. I'm totaly new to posting on any forum so educate me if needed!
Just a little about my 4x4 world. Ive been into it for a few years now and have come through the growing pains of starting with an average (limited) vehicle and gear and have progressed to have what i am happy to go anywhere do anything with. Experiance?
Ive done all sorts, Thompsons track, Waitapheta, Maratoto/Wires Refton challenge, Coast to Coast, lots of co driver/winch man stuff in the winch challenges, heaps of rescues of stuck trucks from the local riverbed, etc. Broken a bit of gear and learned lots from that. Ive got some good info from here, maybe I can offer some help or advise or add something to a thread some time, we'll see.
Cheers, Steve.

What sort of truck/s you got.
Oh and where do you reside :?: :?: (if you put it in your profile it'll save heaps of the same questions later.)

Ive got a early s/c hilux thats been given some treatment. Shortened the chassis, crossover steering, v6 commodore & auto, longer leaf springs (lots of travel), rear disc conversion. 8274 winch, and all the usual recovery gear.
Been stuck plenty, sometimes its the getting out of trouble that's the most fun!
And I'm in the HB, member of both clubs in our area.
