hilux front end rebuild kit

Post by J_Dub »

ripped out the front end to rebuild and give a coat of bling then to re-fit r.u.f then high-steer..
Wheres the best place to buy a bearing/seal kit from? Is there a kit available that supplies every gaskit and bearing and seal needed?
Part number?

NOOOOOOOO

All of the above by them from Don Kyatt Auto Parts in South Auckland. They used to be Truck and Bus. Awesome to deal with and if you ring and ask for a swivel kit for a soild hilux they will know exactly what you mean and have it on the shelf ready to go. All the seal, king pin bearings, wiper seals etc.

I get my stuff through a mates account but it will be under $200

And no they don't sponser me (yet ) just give great service
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

Be careful buying off tardmee with these as there are different sizes. I have struck this with a BNT kit (that was obviously cheaply manufactured).
The other thing to watch is the hub seal size. I can assure you these come in two sizes and if you get the one that is too big it will all go together sweet as, but the first time you hit water it will flood into the hub and root your wheel bearings. As mine wasn't a daily driver, I left it for a mth or so and the wheel bearing was rusted so solid that the wheel would not turn at all.

So if you get your kit from a reputable firm, you will have come back if it isn't quite right. Shouldn't cost you more than $150, and if it does, you are definatly buying at the top end.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Thats the terrain tamer kit, I got that one a while back, it was missing something, I mean not specked with.... just can't remember what it was missing it was either the inner seals or the king pin bearings either way it worked out cheaper to get the complete kit from bnt another one to try could be SNR.co.nz they did have them there cheaper than I could get em trade locally but the few bucks I saved wasn't worth the hassle of waiting for them to arrive.... they may have put there prices up, seems to be happening a bit

The Terrain Tamer kit comes with everything you will need.
We use them at work as the genuine parts are drug money prices.
I haven't had to get anything extra yet.
Don Kyatt cheapest around as well, and that includes freight to CHCH
