botailing a 60

Post by crazyclark31 »

Family has an old bj60 and is get pretty hard to wof due to the good old rust in roof.
Am thinking would make a good club truck but wanna shortin the rear overhang.

Is this a hard thing to do? From what i can see it isn't but wanna make sure before i take to it with the grinder

Also how much boost can the 3b handle before it becomes an issue?
Am pretty good with the spanners and welder so will do most if not all myself.

have a look on ih8mud.com, do a search and you'll find quite a few people who've done it.

cut off right behind spring mounts this will take off close to 500mm

install a heavy channel as a cross member and this can then be a mounting for your recovery hooks etc
