1999 extracab 2.7 hilux petrol?

hey guys i am looking at buying a new 4wd hilux and after already owning a diesel 4wd hilux i'm not quite sure about the petrol engine in hiluxs. so i was wondering if anyone can tell me the differences between them and diesel. for example are they not as reliable? not as tough as the diesel one like when you think of hilux you think of unbreakable. are the petrols like this or completely different and just shit?

the 2.7s have a pretty much fautless reputation.
people are doing alsorts to them with turbos and mods in the states, drifting, drag racing..

I own one never misses a beat more power than a diesel and not to dear to run.Also own a 2008 4.0 V6 which is way better.

i got a 2003 3.4ltr v6 its ok wouldnt rave but you can buy heaps of bolt ons for them to beef them up a but
