Hilux rear Disc brake conversion problem.

Post by mudnutz »

I am using SNR brackets and MR2 calipers. To keep the calipers up high on the rotor they hit the leafsprings, so would swapping the hilux diff housing for a wider leafsprung surf housing be enough for the calipers to clear the springs? Also would hilux rear axles fit the surf diff?

not sure about the SNR bracket and calipers

But the hilux axles are shorter than the surf ones.

I have Maxima calipers above the leaf springs on a surf diff with heaps of room, used brackets from Deranged

x2 early 90s v6 maxima on leaf sprung axles. small mod to caliper to use hilux handbrake cable.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed
