Driveshaft Mods

Post by mayday »

Im 3/4 of the way through installing a 350+700r4+prado transfer case into my BJ74 cruiser but now need to get my driveshafts sorted. The bolt pattern is slightly different on the prado transfer compared to my old one. Does anyone out there know of an easy fix for this! I cant slot them as it will be too far but have heard of being able to slip the prado end of the driveshaft into the original one at the slip joint? Any info appreciated. Cheers

depending on the flange you can turn the shaft 45 deg and re drill, if you have the slip joint give it a go.

What he said, I turned an redrilled the patrol diff flange on mine to suit the cruiser d/shaft. Probably the easiest fix if ya havent got the prado slip joint to try out

So I cant turn and re drill the shafts due to the rectangular shape of the ends and the size etc but I just measured up a mates surf thats outside and the flanges are the right pattern for what I need. If anyone has a pair of surf driveshafts they want to part with let me know! Cheers
