Did you pay him to replace 4?
For a mechanic to pull BS like that is crap.
He caused it, so he should fix it at a reasonable cost :?
If he has no solution then he an't very good.
Ask for your money back or take it to someone that can sort it and charge him for the repairs.
I won't quote the consumers guarantee act to you, but you know where I'm coming from?
Cheers,

Edit;
Welcome.
Best to intro your self on your first post

A mechanic said that having 3 is ok?, thats rubbish, you need/want all 4 working.
I agree with what Simon said in the previous post

The mechanic should be exploring all ways to put it right.
There are always risks when working on vehicles.
Bolts etc etc do seize and he should inform you of the problem and advise whats steps to fix and cost.

Its not entirely the fault of the man turning the spanner. poop happens.

Not just "she'll be right mate" but take it to someone to fix..
He's the one who should know what needs to be done !

Unfortunately depending if it can be removed with an easyout, then it could be head off....

I hate situations like this, hence I do all my own spanner work.

Let us know the outcome.

not all that uncommon, especially if you have been double glowing due to other glows not working. mechanic should have warned you that they tend to stick in the head and at worse may need the head pulled off to repair it.

worse thing that happens is the glows swell up and break the tip off when you remove them, leaving it in the motor to damage the piston.

Had it happen to my old GU, head had to come off but it couldn't be drilled out. After going to 4 different head specialists, finally had an engine reconditioner get it out. Only cost $1500 all up
