I'm thinking of one day owning and then installing it in overhead console thingy where altimeter etc used to be 8)

do we have any long term test results yet on these

I know 3 of us with the GME 3100. Been really impressed with it. Easy to mount (it really is very small), good range, clear reception. Got it from the guy at Waikawa Bay (near Picton) who advertises on trademe. Good to deal with. Cost just under $400 once a spring base and antenna were added in. Apparently they have some code you can input to open up the 80 channel option as well, but why bother at this stage when everyone else only has the 40 channel radios.

My mate has one in his fawdy and its very clear and easy to understand what hes saying and know scratching sounds either.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.
