was browsing on trademe the other night and come accross this
i want to do it to my landcruiser but is the seat allowed to be like that?

i will be going for a cert in a few months so is ther anything i need to d to make it legal

Yep Legal, Our 2010/11 Troopys at work are seated like that. That model cruiser came out like that too (NZ new?), been looking for one of those Front 2/3rd seats for ages. rare as rockin' horse s***!!!

is factory in 40,and troop carrier 45 and 70 series cruisers .so in theory can be legal ( with belts depending on year)

found my one in a cruiser 70 ute small mod to the mounts and fitted all good

yep campervans have seating that way too. seatbelts is what will get looked at hard. mainly there mounts. I would check with cert man how he wants them done. what he wants and what you would do to be sure may be very different. Most of us overbuild things but doing what he wants may be a lot less work . nice what you have done with the ali checkerplate. pity its going to lose its shine with time.
even if the year of your truck means you dont need seat belts I would still put them in. might just save a life. kids especially. our camper just has lap belts not three atachment triangle belts whatever you call them

out of interest what year does the truck have to be to legally have those rear seats with no seat belts?

total cost including seats, new belts and cert was $1500 for the cruiser to get a third row of seat

just to be clear i was refering to the back seat not the 2/3rd front seats

Yup, I looked at putting my 80 series seats that way round, but there was no where for the top seat belt mount to go :-( and for the boys safety I wanted 3 point...
