rear suspension sag

So my 1999 flatdeck courier gets used for work and i can carry up to 1 tonne of weight which leaves it sacked out and almost on the bump stops.what do you suggest i do,thought about adding extra leaves to the leaf springs but i dont want it to be too bouncy when its empty.
basically im after your experience and knowledge on this issue.
