This is such an awesome car, it is so much fun to drive.... but needs someone with 4x4 knowledge who is after a bit of a project to get it up and running properly again.
We bought the car in June for $4000 this year for travelling round New Zealand, and have done quite a bit of work on it... new cambelt, new water pump, touched up paint where it had worn in some places, fixed parts of the interior, one new battery (probably worth getting other one replaced too).
We've been going skiing quite a bit, but the last time we went the engine overheated at the top of Whakapapa. We suspect that the cylinder head is cracked, but the fix from the garage was quoted about $3K which we cant afford (having done all the other work!). In the meantime we have applied Chemiweld, and have been hiring cars for the weekends now. This car is too much of a project which is such a shame as it is so pimp and fun to drive.
