GT Radial Adventuro MT Advice sought PLZ

Post by Spark01 »

Hi all, Before I spend my well earned cash, Has anyone got anything to say re these tyres?

Any advice appreciated. I am looking at another two and am leaning towards this type. the others are Nangkang MTs and Buckshots which are almost identical to the nangkangs.

Cheers

hankook rt03s are pretty good and very similar tread pattern to mudstars and bighorns. priced up cheapest out of those three when i got some 6 months ago too.

fairly rowdy on the road. seem sweet in the wet on tarmac too. only had it lose the front end on me once, going round a 25k corner at like 60 in the pouring rain  idiot, i know. let go progressively as though not like some other tyres I've driven on (and those are only a/ts. hah)

I spose there'll always be that trip from the river beds or the dirt that'll matter. I have a SWB prado L/cruiser. Could pretty much go anywhere when I had A/T's on. I've been offered the GT's for $375 per tire fitted and balanced. First MT's I've bought for my truck so pretty inexperienced in the 4wd game but looking to expand the horizons. Do you guys think this is a reasonable price? Cheers for the replies too.. :o

Great cheers. Road noise doesn't worry me as I'm lucky enough to live in town and the new idea is to do up the truck for weekend excursions with the mrs. Thanks for your help. I have lots of issues with my truck. the last owner had done it up (modified) it quite a bit inc. raised it up, and put the breather tubes thru to the diffs (whatever they're called!) on it and it also came with some pretty aggressive muddys that were well thrashed.

Bighorns? I'll google. Sorry no pics at this point. After 33's.. I don't have the exact measurements. I'm a bit of a rookie.. I had a lump sum of cash come my way so I can finally start putting some effort into my truck and start using it for what i bought it for :D

I bought some GT Radial Adventuro MT's for my truck 3 years ago in 33x12.5x15, they do everything i want from them they are a great all rounder and wear has been slow. I would buy them again.

I had the Adventuro MT's (33's) on my kzj78 for a year or 2 and found them to be a great all round tyre. Not very good on wet sticky clay or thick mud (but not much is except Silverstones and Simex's). They have no sidewall protection so you need to be carefully on sharp rocks. They wear really well. If you have the power to spin them they clear well and perform well in most conditions.

I paid $330 fitted and balanced, I got them abit cheaper because he couldn't get any Bighorns, KL71s are around the price you have been quoted to, I find them alot better on the road than the GT's, the GT's were quite slippery on road and noisy, the KL71s are wider aswell both 12.5 wide but the GT only had 9" of tread.

Ive got them on my swb prado, im on my second set now.
They clear well in the mud and seem to hang on good to the road wet or dry.
Got 60k out of my first set, which I didnt think was too bad considering their price and the fact it gets thrashed pretty hard.
