Borland Road with FJC Magazine, 10 December

Post by shane4x4 »

Hi everyone!
We'll be touring NZ in December for FJC Magazine (http://www.fjc-mag.com), and one of the trips we want to do is Borland Road in Fiordland.

We want to invite anyone & everyone to come join us to run this trail, hopefully we'll make it all the way to the end (the south arm of the lake). Either way we're excited to experience Fiordland via 4x4!

We'll be meeting at the Borland Lodge early in the morning, and heading out with (hopefully) a pretty good sized group. I've already talked with the people from the Borland Lodge & they're OK with our group meeting there.

Hopefully some of you can make the trip with us :)

FYI, you can get more info about our trip here: http://www.kiwitour11.com

That really is a great trip, you will really enjoy it,
Me and i my partner have been in there a few times,we had the great privilege of being allowd to go in the winter,it was magnificent but hard going in the snow. The only bad part was the amazing bloody sand flys...lol..[ didn't think they come out in winter but they did ..lol.. ]
Get the people at the lodge to show you the video of the making of the road, very well worth watching...no health & safety in those days ..

What day are you going to be in Te Anau, I'll be there during the week before, but probably on way home on 9th.

Hey everyone, we ended up doing borland road yesterday evening. Made it within about 1pm of the end, where a huge tree blocked the road. Guess we'll see the end next time. It wasn't really challenging at all, but the views were pretty great :)
