no battary power in surf ?

went to start truck before completley dead tryed jump starting it no differance termanils are clean and so are earths any 1 got any ideas

If you can get your self a multimeter it will make life alot easier.
What size jump leads are you using cos most cheap leads are about good for bugger all specially with a big moter and if the bat is dead flat youll have to have at least a set that can hold 600amp and a bit of time on your hands.

firstly check Volts in bat, if theres bugger all say less than 7v or 8v then youll have to leave the jump leads (with the good car running) on for at least 5 min to chage up the bat a bit first. whilst your waiting for this check the volts again on the posts of the dead bat it should be between 13.4v and 14.4v. then have a look around for what drained the bat in the first place, like inside lights left on, head lights left on, or door not closed properly etc. once youv charged it for a while try starting. if it trys but doesent start you havent charged it for long enough and your leads arnt big enough.

secondly if the volts are above 12.4v a good bat should be able to start it up a fully charged bat should be around 12.8v - 12.9v.
If your getting good volts move your multi meter leads to the side of the bat clamps as aposed to directly on top of the bat posts there should be the sdame amount of v in both positions. this checks to see that the conection is sound and the clamp is on properly.

Now if youve got good v at the bat but no red lighs coming up on the dash when the key is turned on then is possible one of the main fuses has blown. this normally happens when a reverse polarity situation with the leads happen. youll find the main fuses in the engine bay fuse box, you should be able to tell if they are blown by looking at them closly.
If you get it going leave it running or go for a drive for a good half a houre then idealy you should get the bat charged on a bat charger for 48 houres to top it right back up again. if the bat was dead flat then make shure it get onto a pulse charger cos a trickle charger wont do the job.

yep will do no worries mudlva. ya just got my back up a bit with your dig ya had at me about what a volt meter says.
just for the record mate not intending to come across as smart and neva thought or implied that anyone is a servant. and definantly know there are way more inteligent ppl than me using this form. so please dont imply that i do.
