ln60 chassis with ln106 body?

Post by Roenut »

okey dokey,
i just had a yarn to someone about his double cab hilux. he reckoned it had an ln60 chassis under it and the conversion was simple.
i found the elusive search function on this site, but it didnt come up with this particular swap.
has anyone done this before?
im really keen to have a good go at it if it isnt going to cause me headaches and massive $ loss due to unforseen problems that arise.
apparently the body mounts all lined up and the wirng was simple.
just miffed as to why noone else regularly does this.
any help would be mint

I think the wheelbase is too short. Rear tyres hit back of cab :?: Cant remember. The stamping on the chassis will tell you if its a LN60

hmmm yeah i may go double check for myself. if it is, and it was as simple as he said (you know how 'simple' things turn out) then it'l be something for me to look at doing this year

i had an ln130 with 1kz conversion, lift, wheels etc etc but i always had a major soft spot for the ln106 shape. and i think mrs would leave me for someone who had a nice one

Haven't heard of a double cab swap but have heard of single cab swaps. Think a single cab with extra cab wellside tray was the combo. Got a feeling it's on here somewhere

A single cab on a ln60 chassie will have a shorter wheel base than a ln106 single cab

niblik, the two body mounts that were shifted on that ln130 in that link, im sure are different to the ln106 anyway. i really do have to go and see how they did the swap on the truck i mentioned in my first post. i'll try snap some pics of it as a reference for anyone else thinking of doing it
