quick question for any1 whos interested...... anybody having any problems with vehicles been tampered with while parked around the lake

haven't been there for a few years, but it was a major problem about 8 years ago. we did a deal with the local bus driver and parked on his front lawn.

Didn't have a problem while parked near the dairy back in April 2010. Had a 100 series Landcruiser there for 3-4 days without issue.

i dont think you will have any problems around the lake area its self but if you park down maungapuhtu road not sure on correct spelling <huiarau summit road>you could strike tampering

not supprising tho, that place is bloody backwards by about 50 years, its so remote that i doubt theres anyway to fix the problem. shame you have to negotiate the slums to get to 1 of the most amazing places in this country
