viscous fan escudo
to get a new one is $325 has anyone modified one or put electrics in thoughts please
Re: viscous fan escudo
What is wrong with the old one? You can replace the fluid in the hub to make it work again if thats the problem.
Re: viscous fan escudo
dont mean to thread hijack but im also thinking about putting an electric one on my g16 samurai, so i can turn it off when going through water. Let me know if you find out if a single would be enough or what size etc

im confussed fan didnt go at all before now it goes all the time but when you rev the engine it wont go faster
Re: viscous fan escudo
Bnt will have it. What you want is viscous fan hub fluid. It is a simple job and will make it work properly. Here's a how-to.http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=28644
Re: viscous fan escudo
Fluid is VF-50 (Viscious Fluid 50ml) available from Bnt ..comes in a big syringe

Re: viscous fan escudo
This is my kinda simple way of explainig whats hapning. the fan is not mechanicaly driven by the pully its driven by the fluid. when the tep of radiator/ coolant heats up the hot air blowing through heats up the viscus fluid causing it to thicken up and drive the fan more, when it cools down so does the fluid this alowing the fan to slip as its not needed. when you rev the engine and the fan is not spinning its either cos the fluid hasent thickend up or in your case there isint enough fluid in the unit. hope this helps.
